Does anyone know how the table would read if Preston away was the opening fixture?

Might just be me but is this question as stupid as it sounds?
I would assume if results were the same then the table would look the same doesn't matter what order they come in

Just intrigued......

Well the current 6 would look like this (unaudited!) Not sure there's much of interest there. Baadiff would be right there somewhere, poss Narch too - done them now, not sure why :)

Baadiff P8 Pts 18
BHA P8 Pts 16
Wendy P8 Pts 16
Hudds P6 Pts 15
Newc P6 Pts 14
Tin Pot P8 Pts 14
Narch P8 Pts 14
Leeds P8 Pts 13

I think the OP means ONLY games since Preston?

And I thought I was being thick this morning. OP means if the season had begun with the Preston game, and all games before were part of the previous season, or indeed had never been played . . . . . it is an attempt top show that our recent form may not be as good as that of some other clubs.

Actually . . . a bit of a silly thread, on reflection.

As silly as 'what would our league position look like if some of the results of games played had been different'.

I'd have preferred to see what the table would look like if we'd beaten Huddersfield the other week. Pretty ****ing good I reckon, not that it doesn't look pretty good anyway

Haven't checked the others, but starting from the defeat at Preston I make it played 8, points 14, not 16, for Brighton (P8, W4, D2, L2).

Yes, that was obviously what the OP intended - alternative interpretations were frankly perverse!

Is it that silly? It's just a form table over the last eight games really.

Wow this thread is a cluster****.

To the OP: Statto.com is your friend

I can't post tables well, but basically we'd be 9th, 7 points behind leaders Cardiff and 3 points behind favourites Newcastle. Aston Villa would be sacking their manager

P W D L F A GD Pt
Cardiff City 8 6 0 2 18 8 10 18
Sheffield Wednesday 7 5 1 1 13 6 7 16
Huddersfield Town 6 5 0 1 12 7 5 15
Newcastle United 6 4 2 0 12 5 7 14
Norwich City 8 4 2 2 17 10 7 14
Fulham 6 4 1 1 11 6 5 13
Preston North End 8 3 4 1 11 8 3 13
Reading 6 3 2 1 10 8 2 11
Brighton and Hove A 7 3 2 2 13 11 2 11
Wigan Athletic 7 3 2 2 9 7 2 11
Barnsley 8 3 2 3 8 10 -2 11
Leeds United 7 3 1 3 10 10 0 10
Ipswich Town 8 2 4 2 9 12 -3 10
Nottingham Forest 8 3 1 4 9 13 -4 10
Burton Albion 7 3 0 4 7 12 -5 9
Derby County 5 2 1 2 12 10 2 7
Wolverhampton Wndrs 6 2 0 4 6 8 -2 6
Queens Park Rangers 6 1 2 3 9 9 0 5
Bristol City 6 1 2 3 9 11 -2 5
Blackburn Rovers 6 1 2 3 7 9 -2 5
Birmingham City 8 1 2 5 4 13 -9 5
Brentford 6 1 1 4 12 14 -2 4
Rotherham United 8 1 1 6 5 18 -13 4
Aston Villa 6 0 1 5 4 12 -8 1

edit: for some reason this table doesn't include the Cardiff game. So the cluster****ery continues.....

We would be 2nd with level on games played and a point behind Newcastle and yet sort out a Derby fixture away...

Of course Derby might have played us at home the day after they lost away at Leeds.
