That's why the FA cup should never be lost.

Well done to Lincoln whilst they're still striving for a place back into the Football League.

Glad they took this competition seriously.

They are taking it seriously, playing full strength, AND they are maintaining their position at the top of their league.

The FA should make it compulsory for all teams to play 90% of their previous league starting line up in all FA Cup games. The FL should do the same for their cup.

90% of 11 is a bit of an awkward number; a minimum of eight players from the previous league match would perhaps be both reasonable and do-able?

I can remember when teams used to field a weakened league team before an FA CUP tie and getting fined for not putting a full strength team out

There would be a lot of niggles and unspecified minor injuries - you can't force clubs to field 'injured' players. Either that, or you'd get the utterly embarrassing scenario we've seen in this year's Checkatrade Trophy, of first choice players starting the game to meet the rules, then being subbed off after a minute. That kind of thing would damage the FA Cup far more than the current situation.
