Two lady agents stuck needles into the back of his head at an airport? Nasty business.

You can't trust them you know. Girls I mean. But the North Koreans are almost as bad.

Surely the North Korea only survives because of the South in as much that The West will not attack NK as for certain Pyongyang will strike at the South as long as its still standing.

The concern is probably more on how Trump reacts to North Korea.

Still he's made a good start by discussing the ussue in front of guests and staff at the 'winter white house' none if whom have security clearance.

Having read Tim Marshall's highly informative book Prisoners of Geography there's little doubt that North Korea would loose militarily in short order but the cost of doing so may well be unimaginatively high in terms of casualties, not just in North but in South Korea also. One; hostilities will lead to an invasion from the north that will take time to repulse; and two North Korea has around 10000 peices of heavy artillery dug within caves just north of the border in easy range of Soeul capable of firing hundreds of thousands of rounds in the first 30 minutes.

The North's nuclear capability may not yet be a factor but could become so within 5-10 years.

Another uncertainty is the uneasy relations between surrounding countries that should have an interest in cooperation but don't - which explains why China hasn't dealt with the Kims.

Before Trump got in the book suggests another potential flashpoint could be an accidental one arising from an unintended incident between US and Chinese navies - but seems to have been considered already.

But now there's the Bush like potential for ego led proactive intervention, perhaps with Iran or another of the countries on Trump's 'bad dudes' list.
