1) Bobby Smith I (signing on fee unknown)
2) John Napier (£25K record at the time)
3) Ken Beamish (financial begging bowl)
4) Gary Williams (first £75K transfer by a Div 3 club)
5) Mark Lawrenson (first £100K transfer by a Div 3 club) (maybe the first £100K transfer for a 19 yo? )
6. Shane Duffy (£4.46 m still seems a lot to me for a defender.)

I am of the understanding that the money received from the sale of CKR 3 months earlier, accounted for the lion's share of what we paid to Rochdale for Glenn Murray

CKR left in 2006, Murray signed in 2008
Still has to be Glenn for me 300k in 2007, with our finances
Tony Bloom paid for that signing even though DK was still chairman.

What I meant was the sell on fee from the sale of CKR from Sheffield Utd to Fenerbahce received in the summer transfer window of 2007 (about £200k)
At least, that's what they told me!

I am not sure how CH was a gamble when he clearly can do the job after his stints at Newcastle and Norwich, where he should never have been sacked at either club. I was delighted when we got him.

Deep down i just know we're going to blow it, or at the very least have a nail biter of a finish, we just don't do things easy down here.
And yes, i think you may be right, he probably is the best manager in the world.
