Pocognoli was fabulous again. He put in an immense performance against Dirty Leeds, and was every bit as good again tonight. I like Bong, but I think if Poc gets a run of games he's only going to get better, and will become undroppable.

Goldson - bless him. He really did put a shift in tonight as someone else mentioned. He's a fish out of water in that position though, and was out of position for the goal. Never looked comfortable pushing on. He contributes nothing in an attacking sense, he can't combine with Knocky going forward, can't cross, and isn't quick or wily enough to get up and down or pick his moments when to support or stay back. Its a very specialised role, and clearly not one he's accustomed with. Fortunately Knocky was absolutely on FIRE tonight and pretty much did it on his own, but Goldson at RB did not work in any sense, and Hunt will have every right to be disappointed not to be involved.

Pocognoli showed this evening that he is a capable cover for Bong but I hope LR or Bruno are back soon. Goldson did ok defensively but was not supporting Knockhaert in attack and AK was looking for him to overlap as Bruno does.

One question about POG. Why did nobody seem to want to pass to him the moment he crossed the half way line?

If POG can stay fit then I'd play him ahead of Bong every week. Definitely need a new striker brought in though. We look very light up top.

Pog? Its Pork, surely? Apparently (according to tonight's Knocky interview), Stockers is 'Stocko'.

Cheers, Hazza.

Goldson was a very good square peg in a round hole, I thought. He looked uncomfortable but put a proper shift in.

Opposition looked a bit uncomfortable as well.

If Hunt doesn't play against Cardiff Houghton should be fired on the spot for gross incompetence

The cross for the goal was just DELICIOUS.

He put it the ONE place where no Wednesday player could do anything about it. Stunning

Definitely an upgrade on bong and has an incredible range of passing and crossing. Our 1st choice LB in my opinion

I haven't read every post, but I came away thinking that his crosses were brilliant, but I wasn't sure that he offered enough in terms of overlapping, and I wasn't that convinced by his defending, especially 1st half until the unfortunate injury to Hunt who had been causing problems down that side.. Don't get me wrong, he hasn't played and a tough game to come back for so not necessarily a surprise, and a couple of crosses like that a game would do me nicely.. Just not sure he was as good as others have said?

I think capable cover is a bit of an injustice to Poco.
Bongo is a good full back but opponents target him nearly every game, he appears our weak spot in a stong back four, especially with ball in the air.
His best trait is going forward rather than defending and was at his best when Kaz was playing last season, they seemed to have a good understanding.
Poco is a better all round left back IMHO and was superb last night, as he was against Leeds.
Interesting that both full backs are more effective IMHO when we have a left footed wide man on the left.
Skalak and Murph both cut in on their right foot, but Solly being left footed allows the full back to be involved more, overlapping and on the wingers natural foot, as it proved last night and at Birmingham.

Poco and Solly to start against Cardiff please CH

Pog used to be immense before West Brom and clearly needed time to get settled. Expect our set up helped that and really hope he can kick on and then be interested in signing for us next season.

Very clear too that Goldson is not a RB in our system but hey in an emergancy and all that. We did have 4 tall defenders tonight and think Hughton wanted that rather than Hunt's experience being the reason he didn't play
