He should never have been sacked at Newcastle or Norwich, so I was very pleased when we got him. And I don't think there is any doubt how well he has done so far with turning that awful season around so quickly to nearly getting promoted last year with just bad luck failing us. Hopefully, he is going to take us one step further this year and stay with us for years to come.

I would have been fairly happy with mid-table the following season with half an eye on the playoffs. What CH did last year was staggering.

They'd be happy with a point tonight. Of course they might get more, but they'll be preparing for a fast start from us. They'll look to get through the first 20 minutes and get the crowd quiet. Let's not make it our objective to help them.

I don't think it is out of order to notice the passing similarity between CH and President Obama. As well as the same haircut they definitely have things in common in terms of their personal and leadership styles. Hughton probably has a slightly more in depth knowledge of global affairs and is better at making big decisions under pressure though.

Well let's hope when his tenure eventually comes to end that CH isn't replaced by basically a clown with bad hair

I wasn't quite in the 'get him out' boat but I had serious doubts. They didn't last long the following season.

In our defense, miserable doesn't even begin to do justice to the dross we were served up at the end of that season. We'd also just seen the club give the previous manager just that little bit too much time. I'm angry with myself now because if anything, I tend to be right on the other end of the 'giving someone a chance' scale.

I wanted Hughton to get the job after Garcia, but when he came here our end of season football and results didn't leave a lot to look forward to the following season. I think I gave him 7 games of the next season before I passed my judgment. Needless to say he passed and I haven't looked back.

CH is great manager,and all round good guy.When the press were on about him as England's first black manager,I realised I'd never even considered his colour before-truly remarkable for somebody of my generation (born in the '50's).We've come a long way on the equality front,but there's still some way to go. :albion2:

Wanted CH when Hyypia got the job. Not been disappointed and whilst probably unlikely, would love to see him have a Ferguson like tenure. (stay until he retires). Just seems a decent individual and footballing wise is excellent.

I don't agree that the squad were in the position they deserved to be in. If so why sack Hyypia? The squad was much better than bottom half.

Chris hughton is a gentleman and will always be remembered for his achievements here at Newcastle.

He deserves success, and so do Brighton , it's a proper football club , I hope Brighton and Newcastle are promoted , what he's done there is amazing.

Good luck , hope we both finish in the top two , and I'm not concerned what order it is.
