Why do people in the North stand applaud the west/east (they DO sing, you know)/south stands when they sing their bit?

Cracks me up every time

Just love it when this one gets going between the North and West. Shame the East don't get involved. Sounds epic from the South/East and shows a lot of the #Together spirit. Lots of WTF looks from the away end. :albion2::thumbsup::albion2:

Sitting in NIG, I'd say that the East Stand normally gives WAY more response than the West Stand to that particular chant. Tho hopefully all down to acoustics.

Good point. The acoustics are excellent from the E&W. Just sounds awesome when we get it bouncing around the stands.

I think the North is louder now, and the West more quiet.

Shame the West can't be as loud as it used to be.

I would like to make an apology for at least the area i used to vacate in the West, as i could be a tad gobby and i am sure they miss me now.

I agree. It means people aren't watching the football but looking at other stands and then clapping if the stands join in. It's not for me

You are aware it's possible to sing it AND watch what's happening on the pitch right?

I mean, the stewards aren't going to escort you out because you weren't facing the the stand you wanted to bounce it off

Got to love the naivety of some on here.
Anyone reading this would think the AMEX was an Íñigo of white white hot noise and passion.

Yeah let's do away with 'North Stand/West Stand', after all there's always:-

'we've got Knockaert' and uurrrrmmmm another one to fall back one.

Which game is this? I haven't heard the west stand join in for about 2 years

I'm not against it, but I noticed in the first few years at the Amex that we often conceded a goal after that chant started up.

So.. actually I am against it.

It's better at away games when you get the Left Side / Right Side version where equal numbers of vocal fans who by accident of seat purchase have ended up on the left or right side of the stand and want to prove that they are the louder.

It tends to be deployed when sound levels are a bit low and/or there's a break in play or there's not much to cheer about on the pitch.

Seems a good way of revving up the crowd. But of course the singing police will find the usual objections.

I think it's the opposite it's usually rolled out when the team are winning handsomely and we're all in our pomp, brazenly peacocking.

I like it.

Wasn't it Rotherham at home this season - random low key ian game Tues night and suddenly the stadium burst into this song for about 5 mins - I'd like to see that again soon - was quality (length and sound).

Generally seems to be a desperation chant when things go flat. Love it at away games when it shows how many we have taken

It was, loudest i've heard at 3-0. There was a video from the east which captured it but can't be ****ed to track it down.

Also the spontaneous phone light game with some comedy chants I recall.
