JCLs to be upgraded

Good news for all JCL fans. You are on the verge of being upgraded to a higher category of Albion fan.

There is a new kid on the block aiming for a place at the bottom of the pile. The JCFL.

This type - one of whom I had the misfortune to encounter/listen to last night - is "going to get a season ticket for Brighton next season if they go up". This statement will usually be followed by an analysis of the merits of "being able to rock up at The Amex" compared to the current expense/difficulty of following their PL team. If you have not yet met a JCFL then be assured you will do in the coming months.

On a serious note. Presumably/hopefully the JCFLs are actually going to find it much harder than they realise to get tickets, let alone STs, next season if we do go up - which is a nice thought.

Not sure how they will get a season ticket, as assume now having sold out season tickets, the renewal rate if we go up will be 100%.

Maybe to can go on a waiting list to join the waiting list, and left to the perils of the touts

On the positive side, it is these peolpe who would fill the odd empty seats when the ticket exchange kicks in every game next season (IF we are promoted).

Would love it if we reached the stage where loyalty points were needed to buy HOME tickets.

Yes. The Amex should be PACKED for most games next season as spare tickets become easier to shift on.

I, for one, can not wait until some bellend I haven't spoken to in years pops up on Facebook less than a month before the Manchester United/Arsenal/Chelsea games informing me that it's been too long since we've spoken, asking how I am etc and managing to restrain themselves for at least 4 messages before asking me if I know anyone who has a spare ticket for "the game".

They'll follow this up with the reassuring phrase "I'm happy to pay for it" and they might even sweeten the deal with a "I'll even buy you a couple of beers at the game". I will then politely tell them to f*ck off.

On the down side, I think we will also see an increase of away supporters in home areas. Just one random example, one of our group is a lifelong gooner but lives in Brighton and has an Albion season ticket simply because he likes watching football and can't afford to go to Arsenal each week.

Although, to be fair to him, when we played them in the Cup he didn't actually buy his ST seat as he didn't trust himself not to reveal his true colours.

We should all take the pledge not to sell any spare to away-sympathetic fans. Nothing would annoy me more than a few United goons celebrating in the WSU should Ibra be lucky enough to nick a consolation.

I've got nightmare visions of us playing Utd on the telly and seeing all four sides of the ground cheering when they score.

Thank ****. I'll admit I became a proper fan in 2013, but then I wasn't really into football at all before that and I was 15 so I guess it makes it okay (awaits sarcastic and aggressive replies

).

Seriously that whole "I think I'm going to get a season ticket when they go up" statement makes me want to cringe. Cringe so much.
I don't have one because I couldn't afford it. And now that I can I probably won't be in Sussex for the majority of next season anyway so there's no point.

But if I could've I would've had one for at least the last 2-3 seasons, including the Sami Hyypia disaster one.

In a way I am not looking forward to us going up (whether it be this year or in 10 years). I can;t afford a season ticket at the moment and have my second child on the way which is another complication to throw into the mix in terms of childcare if my wide is working

However, the boy and I have managed 6 games so far this season which isn't bad for a 200 mile round trip to the AMEX. However I have a horrible feeling that it will be increasingly difficult to get down were we to go up.

I am not one of these people that would expect to see us v Chelsea, United etc. just because I had a season ticket at Withdean, but it would be nice to know that I could go down and see a game at some stage instead of a load of twats jumping on the bandwagon and taking up seats against Watford, Bournemouth, Everton etc.

Hopefully the club resist the urge to up the level of season ticket holders (if that is even possible)

I think there is another type that has started to turn up at the Amex, which I have heard described by Prem fans as "the tourists". I could be wrong but I witnessed a crowd of Asian people at the QPR game lining up for photographs with the ground as the background holding in front of them a complete long strip of tickets. How they get the tickets I'm not sure.
