Just 10 midweek options available before the end of the season for the 2 games (so far) to fit in.
Have listed the Tuesday dates below.
17th or 24th January.
7th, 21st or 28th February.
14th March.
11th, 18th or 25th April.
2nd May

Of those...

17th January - Newcastle 3rd Round replay
7th February - set aside for 4th Round replays
21st February - Newcastle are playing on Monday 20th already
18th April - Newcastle are playing on Monday 17th already
2nd May - think you can rule this out as both teams will want a full week to prepare for the last game of the season

So realistically the earliest of those would be the 28th February. I cant see it being on the 24th January unless the 2 clubs have already agreed that date. I doubt a decision will be made before the 4th round draw or the announcement of Skys March games

Would they consider moving the Barnsley game to Tuesday 21st and we then play Newcastle on Friday 17th Feb. Would suit Sky who no doubt want it live. Pain for those planning to go to Barnsley but surely it's an option.

edit. just seen we have Ipswich on the Tuesday so little prep time! So, 14th March it is then!

Can't be 14th March as that's a CL game and Sky will want to televise Brighton/Newcastle and it can't be 11th April for same reason.

But, of course, the Cardiff game could be played on those dates

Surely Sky wanting comes just after 'when it's actually possible to play it' in the queue?

Another possibility is that we play the Newcastle game on a Thursday (a la Huddersfield away game) and a Saturday 3pm is then pegged back to a Sunday.

So, 24th January or is that IMPOSSIBLE ? ??? ???

Dont think its impossible. Both sides will wait til cup draws done monday night so start negotiations on tuesday. Im not sure if there are any regulations in terms of policing and travel and consequently how far in advance a date to be set
