Albion women were rewarded for a brilliant 2016.
Brighton & Hove Albion women were celebrating even more success on Friday, after they received the FA Women’s Premier League Club of the Year Award at the FA Women’s Football Awards.Albion were rewarded for their highly-impressive exploits in 2016, which saw the club win promotion to the FA Women’s Super League after their Championship Play-Off Final victory over Sporting Club Albion in May.
The club’s development squad also had a memorable year, after Amy Merricks’s side claimed the FA Women’s Premier League (Reserves) Southern Division title.

Off the pitch, the Seagulls achieved a category one rating in the FA’s new Regional Talent Club programme. This recognised the club’s excellent coaching and support to elite female players through the FA Girls’ England Talent Pathway.Among the other winners on the night included Manchester City and Yeovil Town, who claimed the FAWSL1 and FAWSL2 team of the year awards respectively.
