For those who can't be bothered to hit the hyperlink, the Newcastle Metro announcer said to a beggar over the tannoy:

"We've had numerous complaints about your behaviour demanding money and begging.
"You might do it in your country but you're not doing it in here."
I assume it actually is racist, because you've started a thread to deny this and all the usual suspects have rushed here to be offended by the accusation of racism

Northern Hemisphere.
The indigenous of Britain are getting a rough ordeal these days. They can't do anything right without saying something wrong.

Alfredmizen is just raising important awareness on real day to day British issues people aren't bold and brave enough to speak about anymore due to the realistic fear of being killed by a gang of blood thirsty refugees trying to Illegally worm their way into our great land with soul intentions of stealing our jobs whilst mugging off our generous benefit system, all for a life of Cuban cigars and convertible cars.

God bless that Tannoy announcer, sounds like a lovely person. Hope whoever it is gets through this.Thoughts go out to the family too. No one likes being called a racer!

Just a thought but could the 'demanding money' be the bit the Metro announcer was referring to by "You might do it in your country but you're not doing it in here"?

Our beggars normally ask f you can 'spare any change' rather than demand money. (or if you'd buy a copy of the Big Issue)

Is it because the Metro man over the Tannoy may be black and the Eastern European is considered one of us under our present EU Membership? Your leader won't like that when he comes back from NY with his brown envelope from the president elect.

Big Issue sellers are NOT beggars.

I was referring to all those who give this non story oxygen.

How is it a " non story" ? There has been an investigation Launched and some poor sod may well lose his job.

It's not racist (unless the beggar was a different race) - it's jingoistic - but maybe the question should be 'How on earth can someone not understand why this is deemed racist (sic)?'

Perfectly possible to make the same point just as emphatically without bringing the person's nationality into it.

It's not racist, it just looks racist and you're too stupid to understand why it looks racist. Even though it's not racist.

Gotcha.

Don't know about it being "racist" but certainly ill advised to announce something like that over a public address system. Asking beggars politely to move on in person is fine, publicly humiliating them is unacceptable. Which is what should have been said to the employee and everyone move on with their lives. He shouldn't be sacked.
Besides the beggar probably then had a load of lefty snowflakes showing solidarity with him and emptying their pockets into his flat clap. Maybe even a copy of The Guardian and a Half Caff Double Shot Moccha Chocca Latte. Probably ended up with the best haul of his life that fateful day in Tyne and Wear.

Just looked at the Oxford Dictionary definition of race and the non pedantically correct racists win again. This is certainly not a case of a competition between men, horses or vehicles. Shall we start a petition on Facebook? Have a minute's applause tomorrow night?

Gotcha.

It's not racist unless the person was a different race. But it's equally unacceptable. Better?
