Because someone said it was, was offended and it's 2016. So it must be.

For those who can't be bothered to hit the hyperlink, the Newcastle Metro announcer said to a beggar over the tannoy:

"We've had numerous complaints about your behaviour demanding money and begging.
"You might do it in your country but you're not doing it in here."

I seem to remember the saying used by teachers and others "You don't do that at home, so you are not doing that here"........nothing seemed to be amiss with that.

It's very haughty. What we have said if the beggar was English ?

There is an element of racism there. His assertion is that begging is a abhorrent blight alien to the English. It's not.

You mean like all those rushing onto the internet to declare how outraged they are at this being deemed racist? It's just a piece of clickbait. Apparently an effective one too.

You're obviously referring to the management who decided to conduct an investigation.

No need to reference 'in your country' but that's were we are following the referendum

Nowt to do with the referendum, but appreciate there's a small proportion of 48% still trying to blame everything under the sun on Brexit.

Of course, if the beggar had any sense, he would have politely asked, "Please can you spare 20p, to help me buy a ticket home?" Think how much he could have collected from all those racist, fascist Brexiteers..............

does it really not occur to you that the referendum result was a consequence of these sentiments already around?

no one seems to have made a positive case for the immigrant workers we have, so those view that reject them have been allowed to fester. ignoring the issue doesnt fix it.
