Boris's speech was as expected. Big no rhetoric, light on substance.

Excellent speech. Obviously, it was always going to be attacked by the usual suspects on here but I expect the more representative, moderate Remain voters would welcome it.

The speech had zero substance just a load of pseudo patriotic bluster from a Tory toff. Rather similar to the Brexiters on here, just rhetoric like "It's happening", "It's all for the greater good", Britain can flourish" "Now id the time to step up and be a sovereign nation once more" with absolutely no mention of how we may achieve this "greatness".

      Pathetic.
He hasn't even managed to build a bridge yet, a whole nation is a tad trickier.

Not one mention of the Irish border by Johnson either.

Derailing Brexit would be disastrous Boris.......for your career.

That's all Boris really cares about. Its hard to know what he really believes in. People talk about career politicians, he is the ultimate

It's at times like this that one realises how extreme one is - in this respect, at least.

So what in particular did you find practical and helpful in it? or was it just the sort of soaring, positive but ultimately empty rhetoric that appealed to you?

Pathetic speech from Johnson after all the hype, 32 minutes of bluster and waffle. No wonder the Tories are in such a mess if this is the best they can do
