I suppose there hasn't been much news due to the Royal Wedding, so the remainer machine needs refilling, in the hope people will visit the various news outlets and click on the ads.

Remind me again why you voted for Brexit - was it to become poorer?

You simply have no idea what is going to happen in the future. We could be poorer, we could be richer, or things could just be the same. Whatever happens, life goes on, and business adapts.

Well what we do seem to know is that we've all got poorer since Brexit was announced and we haven't even left yet. What you're doing is sticking your fingers in your ears and pretending you can't hear. Incredible really.

Me too, but it's the reality.

It will however soon become fake news, it cannot become anything else unless the BoE can project accurately and then definitively show that it was correct, this particular projected loss seems to be based on previous projections on the back of previously inaccuracies going back to prior to the referendum, to prove a 1% gdp annual reduction against what has actually been delivered takes some assumptions that cannot ever truly be proven one way or other, Remainers will lap it up whilst Brexiteers feel just another flawed projection.

It isnt an anti expert stance, Carney was a firm Remainer who got intangled in a political spat post the referendum and in my mind rightly so as he was proven to be politcally allied with the Tory backed Brexit version driven by a bias that shouldnt have existed.

I do not think he has fully recoverd from it, of course you guy's exonerated him as soon as he said it irrespective of its inaccuracy and still bizarrely cite any further negative projection as if he called earlier ones correctly, a sort of sophisticated The Clamp figure, but you guys lap it up and then hardly cite the Bank of England or Carney ever again until the Guardian spoon feeds you a negative headline even when there has been a few quite complimentary remarks on the UK economy from the BoE since the referendum without a single murmur from any of you

Carney has some way to go and needs to call future economic data more accurately until he/they claims back some credibility as far as projections go, the Bank of England rarely does its reactionary and can hardly call quarterly trends let alone anything further upstream, only recently the BoE has upgraded and then downgraded growth forecast for the UK no doubt re-upgrading anytime soon but somehow can forecast two years of unyielded growth as fact, perhaps thats why interst are due to rise, oooops no they're not, no sorry yes they are, well 40% chance of a rate rise in August ..........

He estimated the amount British household’s would be worse off. You called this Project Fear. Today’s figures, they’re today’s figures not projections, show households are worse than he estimated. What is the point of your mangled waffle?

1%,1.5%,maybe up to 2%.He really knows his stuff, doesn't he?Have you ,or anyone else, noticed being £900 worse off?If that was the case, the downturn in retail purchasing would be screamed from the roof tops.DA School of Mathematics!:lolol:Whose third account are you?

So do you think it is a coincidence that the economy is growing less then all other major economies?

Yes, I have. Downturn in retail purchasing. Mothercare closing shops, as are M&S, Carpetright, Maplin, BHS and others.

We are poorer. That's what today's news is. Not a projection but reality, today.

Carney said prior to the referendum that Brexit might cause a recession but he was part of an unholy alliance with Osborne, his latest statement says that families might not benefit by £450.00 per year that they otherwise would due to reduced 2% growth since the referendum, its not the same thing as project fear and you will have to explain how reduced growth is worse than a recession and £450.00 per year of untapped growth is worse than £4300.00 direct loss forecast by project fear ?

So the fact that he had previously overestimated the damage Brexit would cause is cause for celebration. Only the mangled waffly "logic" of a classic gammon Brexiteer could possibly arrive at that conclusion.

Yey, we are not as poor as initially thought! Have a biscuit.

put a hole in the argument by citing BHS, and Maplin was on borrowed time for years. you and i are not £900 worse off, the nation has grown a little less than previous predictions, so is a less richer than we might have been in a alternative economic universe.

How is it reality if no-one is able to definitively give comparable data on an unknown outcome (a Remain win at referendum) ?
You don't need that. You can simply ascertain that certain economic decisions have been made in preparation for Brexit (and these will largely have a negative impact, things like factories moving to EU nations) whereas we haven't seen any of the benefits that you gammon types have espoused because it hasn't happened yet.

It's reality that interest rates have risen and I can't afford to buy or save as much as I did two years ago. I have a very cheap holiday in a caravan site in France, and since the pound dropped in June 2016, it has cost more.

Seeing Mogg get owned on the Daily Politics was good , he had to resort to getting his phone out to try and google what to say

Quite. Was reading today all 4 leaders in NI have signed a letter stating NI must stay in the customs union to avoid a hard border; it’s hotting up now.

When you say "all 4", you mean leaders of SF, SDLP Alliance and the Green Party leaders - the DUP (and the ever more side-lined UUP) are not included. The DUP have of course insisted there is no hard border in the sea.

It's quite clear that there is no solution available that will appease both of these positions - if there was, it would have been resolved already.

It doesn't help when the minister of that portfolio hasn't done her homework. As the poll at the very beginning of this thread, referring to Theresa May, says she doesn't have a clue what she is doing.
