I wonder on whose authority is Owen Paterson in Oklahoma talking up free trade deals and who paid for it? The lunatics really are taking over the asylum.

I expect him to see sense!? Does anyone with half a brain see what has happened over the last two years and think brexit is still good!?

You mean 'see sense' according to you - he's a Eurosceptic and to many of us that is seeing sense.

To be fair that's not fixed, it's just saying the same thing in a different way.

Eh? On the one hand, you post suggesting he'd be unprincipled if he didn't change his politics from being anti-EU. On the other, I posted that this is exactly what he should do because that's what his party believes and that he is the one who is out of step. How is that saying the same thing?

Yeah ok, eurosceptic or not, name ONE thing that is going well so far! It is a shambles!

It has been a shambles thanks to May and her aides. That doesn't mean Eurosceptics should suddenly believe being in the EU is a good thing.

There's plenty of Eurosceptics on the remain side, myself for one.

Voting Brexit because you're Eurosceptic is the equivalent of cutting your head off because you have dandruff.

In nearly 50 years of following politics, it's been noticeable that most cabinet ministers (from both major parties) have been intelligent and perceptive human beings. Occasionally, you get a duff one who's been promoted way beyond his/her abilities but the vast majority are clearly extremely bright and highly competent.

So, it's a real shock to see politicians of such poor calibre as David Davis, Boris Johnson, Liam Fox and Chris Grayling in the cabinet. In the past 50 years, any one of these would have stood out as an unholy mixture of mendacity, stupidity and indolence. To have such an array at the top table is a superhuman achievement. What must the competent members of the Tory party think?
