The EU hold all the Aces, the Irish have us over a barrel .... good grief. Embarrassing doesn't begin to cover it.

Well. We are certainly bossing the talks so far. Order and frequency of talks, this is what it will be. 60bn, thank you very much.

I can just imagine the pressure the EU big wigs will put on Ireland if 26 agree to a really good deal (for both sides) and the Irish try to block it. They'll probably make them have a series of referendums over it until they get the 'right /' answer. It's the EU way - and why we're leaving.

If it's why you're leaving then it's not a good reason. The last time the Irish reran an EU referendum it followed, as in the case of Denmark, a major shift by the EU; a change in the rules that the people demanded and, via, democratic means, got.

Our (reminder to many on this thread that's the UK side) position from the start was nothing is agreed till everything is agreed and we would honour our obligations/commitments. There has been talk of 100bn Euros, 20 bn, now 50 bn but no figure has been agreed.

As one of many reasons for leaving, it's good enough for me (and a few others - slightly more than your lot!)

I just noticed your strapline:

“The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings. The inherent virtue of Socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.”

That's not even a glass half full/empty thing. Its an advert for socialism. How odd.

its pretty obvious they are making enough noise to make it look like whatever agreement is upcoming was a victory for Ireland/EU. the negotiations need to move on to trade, precisely because they cant completly settle the Ireland issue until they do (because EU's self imposed conditions). the consequences if they dont, if the EU string this out and play for hard brexit in hope of UK abandoning the process, is very high stakes for Ireland, because if they lose Ireland will be the hardest hit from no deal.

Evening HWt, it was a quote from Churchill which you probably knew. I would say it sums up socialism and capitalism quite accurately.

Salut, JCFG. Oddly enough, I agree with you 100%. And in times of plenty, the former is tolerable, whereas in hard times the latter is necessary. Quoth HWT, 2017 :lolol::wave:

Keep taking the tablets and you might become normal.

Primary school playground response.
Nobody is taking anything you say seriously all the time you are so childish and, quite frankly, wrong in everything you say.
As it stands, how can anyone say that Brexit is going well because it just isn't, what the outcome will be nobody knows, but how can you deny that our so called Government is an embarrassing mess, Europe are pulling all the strings, it's a farce, so far.
Watch Davis look for the first excuse to resign because he can't just walk away.

Hope you don't work for the Samaritans.Have been really struggling to think of a reason why I should give a toss what a miserable clown like you thinks, but can't find one.If you don't like what I post, the snowflake button is there for your convenience,or complain to the site moderators. If you can't find it in yourself to honour a democratic voting decision, then hard luck.I really feel for you............not.

Here's the Brexiteer's hero. The man that lead them to vote leave, the man who pursuaded you to believe the EU are ripping us off and sinking us. The hero who believes in the working man, who stands up for the common man, the working family, the chap down the Dog &Duck who'd buy you a pint and talk of England, the Everyman, the man who stood up to the tyrannical, leeches at the EU. Yes, here we see or hero talking about how he will take his £73,000 per annum EU pension because "why should my family suffer".

Here he is. Your ****ing hero.
