Hi resident thicko.

Post 42502.- you wrote:

“You and others pick out "immediate" recession as a way to write off remainers concerns. Financial experts admit they thought it would happen quicker but they also all agree it is happening. Undeniably.“

This is what you posted. You said it's undeniable that we are in a recession. Please provide the links to these experts.

As I said earlier, I assumed from the uproar by two or three Brexit enthusiasts that Clamp had made a slip (rather like JC's statement that the EU was running a deficit with the UK). In fact, I see from the above that he didn't - you have simply misread a standard form of English usage. It might be best to keep your head down from this point.

Even the alphabet spaghetti of 'expert' organisations used during project fear don't believe that any more.

I'm sorry to say. you're just plain wrong.

Brexit expected to lead the UK into recession within two years, investor survey says

56 percent of private equity executives and 57 percent of distressed debt investors said they expect a recession in the next two years.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) warned Wednesday that the U.K. needs to find ways to make its economy more efficient and that Brexit had already begun hurting the economy.

Covering their backsides, if they predict a recession every few months for the next 5-10 years they might actually get it right eventually. Obviously, it will be because of Brexit ... even if it's in 2025 amidst a global recession.

They are inevitable. They also always have a cause. In this case, Brexit is one of the causes of the coming recession. Although, in general, Leave voters tend to blame the wrong thing for their troubles (immigration, negativity on behalf of remainers etc) so I don't expect them to take any responsibility for any of this mess anytime soon.

I forget though, Leave voters don't do experts anymore. How convenient.

Gods country fortnightly
You and other remainers are talking this country in to a recession, nobody else.

I thought you'd just blame the EU, so blame remainers too

In fact blame everyone except the Tories complete mishandling of the country since they won power in 2015. No Brexit plan, no certainty for business, means people go invest some place else.

I see the $300bn-a-day foreign exchange in derivatives trading is moving from London to Dublin, all getting very expensive, for what gain? Blue Passports?

Brexiteers are clueless. They don't know what problems Brexit is causing. They don't know what good it's doing, if any. And none of us know what eventual mess we will walk away with. Dire straits.

You better contact IMF/OBR/NIESR etc to tell them they have got it wrong then. I have never claimed they are that reliable but when did you stop believing their 'expert' forecasts?

Probably best not to use it as an argument then , eh.

Anyway, we are just going over old ground. I'm off out for my Birthday drinks thing. Ta-ra.

Just using your chosen metric for proof .. 'experts' opinions. Back to the question, you avoided .. when did you stop believing their 'expert' forecasts?

I didn't. Forecasts can be useful. All helps build up a picture.
Gotta go.
