Happens everywhere not just in the UK. How do you think the French and Germans are trying to entice the banking sector, its not by saying please. They are offering plenty of bribes / special deals to secure extra jobs. It's called business and it happens within the UK as development areas offer special rates to new large businesses to relocate

since this actually has nothing to do with brexit, fell like chipping in to point out the High Street is a means to an end, not a end in itself. why does it matter if the shops are leaving, if we can buy goods and advise online? truely specialist and service oriented shops will continue, large shopping centres are thriving as leisure destinations.

Perhaps years from now,if there is a demand for it and a political party wins power promising a rejoining referendum and has enough parliamentary support to legislate for a new Referendum Act.
But if it ever arises it will be after we have left and have respected the democratic vote to leave. Thats how democracy works.

Indeed but it was being used to show how businesses are still investing despite Brexit. The incentive is high for the return for some assembly jobs for a foreign company. The Germans will typically reward their own. The payback on slowly replacing the City as the financial centre of the EU will be massively rewarding.

If you honestly think the City of London is doomed to lose out to Frankfurt or Paris then you are seriously deluded. Yes, some jobs will go, but as we have seen with the inward investment, what companies say to put pressure and try to influence compared to what they actually do ion practice, are 2 separate things.
ALl of the financial institutions will leave the majority of their work here, as the City is set-upo to handle the volumes. Frankfurt and Paris aren’t. Also, Euro clearing is in reality, a small amount trade/profit for the City.
A referendum isn't legally binding no matter how many times the Brexiteers say it is. The government is elected by the people to act in our best interests. Our government has stated Brexit is not in our best interests but carries on anyway because they are too afraid to counter the supposed "will of the people". I would like to think one day our government will be held to account for what they are doing but they never do, do they.
