Does that mean he's finally admitting it was all blown out of proportion or as some day total bulls..t?

You may want to read the article in full. To assist here is part of it which will be of interest

Mr Carney said that the UK should concentrate on stable access to financial markets after Brexit. The financial services industry could suffer "outsize" consequences from losing only some of its access.
He also expressed the belief that it would not only be possible, but desirable for the UK to remain part of the EU mechanisms that make financial rules.
He said the EU and the UK were starting from the position of having the same rules. The regulators know each other, he added, and it is a "tightly wound ecosystem".

Therefore if the EU don't permit the same access as financial services currently enjoy, issues will arise.

You therefore need to also refer back to post #24801

How about we all pay a bit more to use it, take individual responsibility then we don't need to read stuff like this.

If taxes were paid and used correctly we wouldn't have to!

None of us pay enough tax to fund the NHS properly for the number of people that use it. We need to face the facts. I said I would be more than happy to pay more and I bet many other people would do the same. The NHS being used as a political football is plain wrong.

I would be happy too, even if everyone paid £5 a month , but the billions of pounds of tax avoidance by big companies would probably do the trick [emoji106]

That will never ever happen. It's up to each individual to do their bit.

It's also up to our government not to lie to us. So we just bend over and keep on taking it just because it'll never happen? That's what got us in this mess.

Nobody is lying to us. If you need the hospital tomorrow you will be seen. It's not a humanitarian crisis either.

Liberty House saves 740 automotive jobs in CovPress rescue 06:27, UK, Wednesday 11 January 2017
A saviour of UK steel and aluminium jobs plans a manufacturing drive as it secures another company's future.
Hundreds of engineering jobs have been saved at a supplier to Jaguar Land Rover and other major carmakers after it was bought in a deal with administrators.

CovPress, which had operated from its factory in Coventry for 120 years until it collapsed last year, is to become part of Liberty House - best known for recent investments in struggling UK industries, including steel.

Liberty announced overnight that it saw the metal stamping and robotic assembly specialist as a "strong strategic fit" for its existing automotive operations given its established relationship with the UK car industry.

That gushing tribute to President Obama from Nick Bryant on tonight's News at Six was given precisely 3 minutes of prime airtime on BBC One.
In contrast, Mark Carney's remarkable turnabout on Brexit (downgrading its "dangers" and upgrading optimism about the economy) received just less than 9 seconds.
Given the BBC News at Six's extensive and uncritical coverage of Mr Carney's every dire warning about the "dangers" of Brexit in the run-up to the vote and in its immediate aftermath, this skimming-over of the Bank governor's turnabout surely speaks volumes about the BBC's news priorities.

Its funny isn't it? All this 'argument', this entrenched view we have.
We leave. The EU say no market access without free movement.
The leave side say that is a red line we wont accept.
This all equals a Brexit that is final. Call that whatever noun you care to choose.
Therefore it WILL be wto rules. If they want to trade. A starting point.
The EU will suffer there is no denying that.
Will we, yeah I guess we will to a degree (that could be an argument!)

Took my daughter to the park yesterday and got speaking to a Lithunian woman. We got on the subject of Brexit, I told her I voted Leave. She is convinced along with her friends that they are going to have to leave the UK, and some are now trying to get UK passports. I basically told her that it is all scaremongering by the people who voted Remain, and nobody is going to have to leave the country. When I told her the reasons for people voting Leave she understood, and even she agreed that too many people entering the country is not good for anyone, as even she was complaining that one job she went for had over 50 applicants.

The BBC is incredibly biased. It's an appalling mouthpiece for political correctness as well.
