Not wrong there, some people I follow post NOTHING but some shit their kid has done. Reminds me to do a bit of facebook cleansing actually.

Ive gone from 350 down to 82 friends with a few culls and some blockings and its so much more pleasant. Less really is more.

How did businesses get by before Facebook came along then?

I see you didn't answer my previous question.

Sorry I did not see a question ???

Not all businesses need Facebook. It depends upon the customers you are targeting. Even then, it's possible to do business without it.

Personally, I'd rather not give my data to Zuckerberg for his personal gain. I'd like an open internet rather than a walled garden (or hell which is what it sounds like.) I understand why people get hooked or use it, but life without it is just dandy.

Got to try to remember a few things.

Remember the old chain mail letters that used to be sent containing threats, curses etc unless you passed them on? Its the same thing but a bit more subtle using emotional blackmail. Remember the advice to just bin it? Bin it.

Originally search engines were used to search the WWW to provide you with information, now some will search you for information for the internet ie facebook.

After a recent expose by Brietbart the whole trending news team has been sacked for leftwingery. That is why it looks different, its going to be replaced with an algorithm so keep your dwarf porn likes to a minimum unless you want that in your feed.

Its click bait that really annoys me, forcing of site loading with the "you will never believe what...." kind of gash. If I click on 10 reasons why etc then that shit needs to be on 1 or 2 pages not 25.

Talking of clickbait, the 'quizzes' are 'like farming'. It says something like 'Nobody gets more than 8 out of 10 in this Quiz', which turns out to be very easy, but in the meantime, the originators have your email address, for spam.

It's very much the Jeremy Kyle syndrome.

I may have a day where one of the tyres on my Porsche gets damaged or I've had a slight disagreement with my cleaner. I just log on to Facebook and realise my life isn't that bad*

There are some quizzes where you 'sign in using your Facebook' which do it. I refuse to do it.

I really hate the animal cruelty pictures because sharing it on Facebook isn't going to make a blind bit of difference. Donating money to animal charities will.

There's also the 'Share this picture of this man/woman who uses animals for fighting'. My response is tell the police or RSPCA, don't start witch hunts on social media. Where is the proof.

There's a lot that annoys me about social media nowadays. But in this instance, I guess it's another titbit that people mindlessly share. People have interests that they want to tell the world about but for some people liking and sharing "if you copy and paste _______ will come to you" is too an interest, albeit an annoying one.

I lost someone dear a couple of years back and I couldn't move through all the "there is a guardian angel looking over you/them, like/share" posts. I don't want to sound entitled or mean but I'd rather people say "thinking of you" etc than sharing something like that.

But then we grieve in different ways I guess.
