Everybody wants to be offended so they can complain about being offended, lol, get a life people come on.

As predicted in the papers now, soon we will get a public apology and everyone will get on with their life again, until someone else says something.

Not defending him but a quick glance on his Wikipedia entry shows that he was just coming out of a very different lifestyle around the time and Luton FC helped turn his life around.

Spot on!

Gray's apology in full

"I would like to respond to media reports with regards to previous tweets posted from my Twitter account.

"Firstly, I want to offer a sincere and unreserved apology to anybody I may have offended in relation to these tweets. The tweets were posted four years ago when I was a completely different person to the man I am now. I was at a very different point in my life back then - one that I've worked hard to move on from.

"Thankfully a lot has changed in my life since then. I have experienced a lot over the past four years and have had to take responsibility for a number of things in my life which has enabled me to mature and grow as a person since that time.

"I have a lot of regrets regarding a number of things I've done in the past and realise I have made some big mistakes, none more so than these tweets, but I would like to stress that I've worked incredibly hard to completely transform my life since that time.

"To clarify, I do not hold the beliefs written in those tweets whatsoever. I can assure everybody that I am absolutely not homophobic and as said previously I can only apologise and ask for forgiveness to anyone I offended.

"Thankfully I am not the guy I was back then and will continue to work hard both on and off the pitch to become a better person."

It amazes me that in 2016 when a player joins a professional club their Twitter account is not cleansed. You would think this would be a standard approach?

But, what a ****.

You expect the club that stops everything to point at planes are also capable of managing social media?

Pathetic isn't it. Time to get offended, people have nothing better to do. Predict a big fuss over the next couple of days with people jumping the gun thinking he said it today, then it will probably make the paper somewhere and then everyone will move on to something else.
Totally agree. I accidentally ran someone over when I was young and a bit silly. I didn't stop, 'cos I couldn't have done anything about it anyway. Unfortunately they died, but there was no point in stepping forward, it wouldn't have brought her back. It's ok now though, right?

Part of me is waiting for Neon Light to jump on this bandwagon and let rip, either in defence of, or against Gray.
How does he decide, does he have a coin?

Can't defend what he posted 5 years but if you read a bit of his background this appears to be someone who has genuinely turned his life around. Says a lot for Luton town who appeared to have been the catalyst. Just sometimes the football industry is a force for good. Having bothered to read a bit of his history over the last few hours the apology feels genuine.

The apology feels like it was written by somebody else. Apart from that i agree with you.

Since he is an employee of a company with international exposure of course it would be... And he is a footballer after all. But he has been interviewed about his past. Around the time the posts were made he has trawled his way out of a life in gangs and has the scars to prove it. He called that a wake up call. If there is anything good to come out of tonight it does display how people can turn their lives around.
