ALBION have been warned to expect a backlash tonight from relegation favourites Rotherham.
Bookies fancied them to go down before a ball had been kicked under new manager Alan Stubbs.
Paddy Power have shortened their odds for the drop to 5-4 after an opening day draw at home to Wolves and Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Aston Villa.
Albion boss Chris Hughton expects a response to that setback at Villa Park from the South Yorkshiremen, one of only five clubs to beat the Seagulls last season.
Hughton said: “Our preparation never changes.
“There isn’t one game that you go into that you are confident of definitely winning, not one.
“Certainly when a team is on the back of a result like they had – although it probably didn’t reflect the performance – they will want to bounce back.
“The manager will have got into the players and they will want to see a reaction.
“That can be a more dangerous time to play them.”
Dale Stephens and Sam Baldock could come into the reckoning for starting roles if Hughton decides to freshen up the side that eventually saw off Nottingham Forest with comfort on Friday night.
