My WHU supporting colleague rates him highly as a ball playing CB, and says he can also cover LB....
Sounds like a CH sort of player.

I rather think he may. There are always opportunities, Goldson wouldn't have been a shoe in for most people, but last year showed enough ability to remain first choice.
Think he might at left back ?
It would kill two birds with one stone. He can play at CB until Goldson/Uwe are back from injury then provide competition for Bong at LB. He played LB in West Ham's Europa league game and looked good.

But you also have to consider that Aaron Cresswell is out for 6 months with a knee injury, West Ham had to buy a left back so I'd imagine that they're thinking about Burke as centre back and left back cover in the same way that we would. He's as likely to get games there as he is here, so why would they loan him out? I reckon if we're interested, it might be in January that something happens when Cresswell is back and West Ham's season will be petering out to nothing.
