The two managers reflect on Friday night's game.

CHRIS HUGHTON praised Anthony Knockaert following the winger’s man-of-the-match performance in Albion’s 3-0 victory against Nottingham Forest.Albion’s manager is pleased with the attacking options he has at the club and expressed his delight with the Frenchman, who opened the scoring at the Amex.
He said, “He’s one of those exciting players that even in a bad period of the game, he can produce something to create or score a goal.
“But on top of that, he’s a player that’s prepared to work for the team as well. He’s made a big impact since he came here in January.
“I’m delighted with his goal, it’s not the type of goal he scores, it’s not a winger’s goal. It’s almost a centre forward’s goal, anticipating a cross coming in and getting in the box.
“He’s really taken to everybody here, he works hard and is a very likable lad in the group. He’s made a big impact since he came here and he’s a very popular member of this squad.
Hughton believes keeping a good defensive record can pave the way for success and urged his team to start quicker in their next league fixture.
“The clean sheets are always going to be a foundation to build off and if you’ve got enough ability in the side to score goals, then you’ve got a good formula.
“We’re in a good place at the moment, but we’re only two games into the season. If anybody thinks that Tuesday night’s game against Rotherham will be any easier, it won’t be. We’ll need to make sure we start better than how we did on Friday."

PHILLIPE MONTANIER was frustrated with his team’s unsuccessful search for a goal, but accepted the home side were worthy winners at the Amex Stadium. The Forest boss made no excuses for his team’s 3-0 defeat and accepted the Reds must show more desire to last the distance.
He said: "It is a great disappointment for us but I think Brighton deserved their victory. It is incredible that we didn't score because we had so many opportunities in the first 30 minutes, but afterwards it was a tough night for us.
"After going 2-0 down, we tried to do things individually rather than as a team and by then it was too much to get back. Our performance for the first 30 minutes was good but we have to play better for the full 90.”
Montanier recognised it wasn’t a great day for his team and said his players must focus more on the correcting their errors.
"We made many mistakes all over the field and it has to be a good lesson for us. We've had a bad day all round. We lost Matt Mills and Britt Assombalonga to injury and then Thomas Lam in the warm-up. But they're not excuses for the performance.
"We cannot keep conceding three goals and expect to get something from the game. We need to concentrate more and work harder on the training ground to put these mistakes right and that is what we will do."
