I like Sir Bob, I can see he's not everyone's cup of tea, but I like his passion for a cause he believes in.
So, his complete disregard for working fishermen, really it didnt come over like that for me, it was more his total contempt for the fishermans friend, Farage. Bob can't realistically help the fishermens cause, but maybe, if Farage turned up to vote now and again, instead of showboating (literally) on the Thames, he could help the industry a lot more, than any of us

This pretty poor pop star has amassed a 150m fortune, how?
I remember he gave it the large one about helping Fathers rights to see their children....he got the press (as he always does, and the cash to go with his interviews) and he did nothing....absolutely nothing.

Sir Bob....huh.

Sir Bob Geldof wants $100,000 for anti-povery speech
ANTI-poverty campaigner Sir Bob Geldof has charged Australian organisers $100,000 to give a speech about world suffering.

Geldof, 54, spoke about the tragedy of Third World poverty and the failure of governments to combat the crisis at a Crown casino function in Melbourne on Thursday night.

But he charged about $100,000 for his troubles - a speakers fee that included the cost of luxury hotel rooms and first-class airfares.

Instead of one boat surrounded by Remain campaigners, we were now in convoy, followed by a dozen or so fishing trawlers, arriving outside the Palace of Westminster. Suddenly the Brexiteers didn’t need to shout back at Sir Bob – the fishermen were doing it for him. Although the protest was for a sombre issue – British fisheries being depleted – the atmosphere turned jovial, driven by the boisterous, un-PC fishermen who quite frankly had no intention of taking any shit from Geldof and his boat of LGBT-flag t-shirt wearing students.
“We’re better off In!” cried the has-been rock-geriatric before his boat was boarded by fishermen who wanted to show him first hand what happens to the fish that they’re forced to discard by the European Union. I have a feeling he was very lucky they were stopped by the river police before they got their hands on him, proficient in gutting and filleting that they are.

He soon scarpered, tail between his legs, having even managed to elicit groans from some of the most pro-EU journalists on board the HMS Farage.
Good to hear that....

Do you seriously think he could do more than an MEP, with a seat on the Fisheries commitee? Seriously?
When you say he has amassed a £150 mill fortune, I think he was also a catalyst for saving about two million lives in Eastern Africa, so, to criticise him as just a rich, out of touch rock star, is a little wide of the mark

Live Aid.....

By this time we had all seen the pictures and TV footage of Bob Geldof, the figurehead of Live Aid, bear hugging and playfully punching Mengistu in the arm as he literally handed over the funding for this slaughter. It was on TV now alright, but as an endless, relentless reel of heroic Bob Geldof highlights. He drenched himself in the adulation and no one begrudged him it, until our investigation exposed the holocaust that Live Aid’s collected donations had help perpetrate on the Eritrean independence fighters.
Most damningly, Keating reported that Geldof was warned, repeatedly, from the outset by several relief agencies in the field about Mengistu, who was dismantling tribes, mercilessly conducting resettlement marches on which 100,000 people died, and butchering helpless people. According to Medicins Sans Frontiers, who begged Geldof to not release the money until there was a reliable infrastructure to get it to victims, he simply ignored them, instead famously saying: “I’ll shake hands with the Devil on my left and on my right to get to the people we are meant to help.”
In the course of preparing our story, we tried to interview Geldof, who in the beginning, perhaps expecting more of the same media worship, was apparently willing to talk, but as soon as he and Live Aid realized what we knew and were going to ask him about, he declined. For more than a month we kept calling and faxing requests for his comments. As we were nearing our deadline, we Fedex’ed him written questions and two cassettes, every day for two weeks. Two cassettes because I urged him to record his answers on two machines, send us one cassette and keep the other as a record, so there could be no dispute about quoting him out of context.
He never replied.

150M......nice earner if you can get it.

Oh, have you set a national standard for morons? Probably some more crap from Brussels. Sadly, there are some people (naming no names, but maybe start wit Da) who are easily lead.

You are a moron, clearly
