Keeping this squad together bar a few is our clubs top priority.
Keep selling players and letting them out of the contracts will mean B&HAFC will remain a Championship club for a very very long time because when we do that the club never seems to replace the quality players with likewise,
they just take a chance on unknowns. With a few exceptions of course.
I'm sure Mr Bloom knows that for these players to stay you have to pay top end wages to them, sad but a true fact in todays football, there is very little if any player loyalty.
To see the likes of Knockhaert, Bong, Kayal, Stephens, Goldson etc leave would be a massive blow to Brighton, massive !!
NO KEEPY , NO PREMIER LEAGUE

Well put.
Brighton is not going to be one of those clubs that creates talent for the fat cat premiership clubs, that think they can do what the hell they like because it's their divine right.
In other words, sod off :)

Anyway Watford have the luxury of picking players from the Pozzo footballing empire in Spain and Italy.
Brighton do not.

If we don't go up we need to try our best to keep Knockaert, Kayal, Stephens, Dunk and Goldson!!

We will try hard but we won't stand in the way of players who want to better themselves. It's the Brighton way. No promotion will mean the dismantling of this squad and the departure of our best players.

I suggest we'll lose all the players you mention if we fail to go up. The only way I can see us hanging on to them is if TB invests another very big wedge on additional players, including a number of proven forwards to show intent is still there. Selling off this team to buy another will be a step back.

The Brighton way as you put is the idiotic, archaic and backward way that will make us remain forever in the shadows of clubs like Middlesbrough, Derby, Sheffield Weds etc etc. and already has to a point.
We are the only team in the top 9 who have never been in the Premier League and only 5 others have never been in the Premier League along with us , illustrious massive clubs such as Brentford, MK Dons, Rotherham, Huddersfield and Preston.
We don't need to sell our best players anymore, we haven't done for a few years now.
If people think that is the way forward then they can kiss goodbye to Albion ever being a Premier League side. Sold Ulloa £8 million + replaced him with who ??? no one of any ilk or that we had ever heard of.

Getting in players like Ryan Harley, Leon Best Jonathan Obika etc etc utter and total wastes of money, letting Murray go because the club didn't think he was worth another 2k a week.
Huge monumental **** ups year after year that are THE BRIGHTON WAY !!! FFS

Barnsley, Swindon, Oldham, Bradford City, Wigan, Sheffield Utd, Coventry, Blackpool, Portsmouth, Wimbledon all been in the PL now who would have thought a lot of those teams would have been in the PL before Brighton, really ?

One thing is for certain, Mr Barber will get top top dollar from any transfer.

Lets take a leap of faith here and say Wetfart offer £5m.

We all know that'll end up £7.5m after negotiations.
Dunk would be a similar amount, bearing in mind the only 2 left sided English centre halves are Stones & Terry.
Goldson is a license to print money.
Stockdale has a few million in him.

Kayal and Stephens are harder to price, and don't be surprised about an offer for Hemed.

All of a sudden the club have nearly £30m to invest in a team having failed to gain promotion in 15/16.

but we know and have clearly seen... it isnt about £30m investment to rebuild.. it is the TEAM ETHIC and BOND that sorts out the clubs who succeed, not the individuals. It has taken us time to find that bond again .... to lose it is unthinkable... but... it is a money game!

The pundits said about Brentford against us at home. Why are Brentford so bad - It's okay selling 1 or 2 of your best places but when you sell 3,4,5 then you're in trouble without replacing with like for like.

I feel is we don't get promoted then we'll lose at least 6 first teamers and be like last season.

Notice how Derby, Middlesbrough mange to retain their best players.

Every player has his price and as long as we get good money and invest it wisely on unknowns and cheap end signings

they just take a chance on unknowns. With a few exceptions of course.
E

Like Goldson, Bong, Rosenior, Knockaert, Stephens and Kayal, we should be ok

Problem is with the huge increase in TV money, the price where we would be prepared to sell is likely to be met with loose change from the TV deal. It will be extremely difficult to stand firm particularly if the player also wants to go

This, sadly I think this is a fact, most clubs, if they really want a player will be able to go the extra few bob!

If we sell this team off for 30 million we have very little assurance that we will build another promotion challenging team for next year, even if we spent it all. It really isn't quite that simple. Continuity is much more important. Plenty of clubs have thrown money at a squad and not gone up

We apparently spent more than we had ever spent, in the history of the club, on that mostly steaming pile of shite we assembled early last season. I know, I still don't believe that !!

If we don't get promoted and sell our best players then can see disgruntled season ticket holders frustrating their anger as a great renewal rate expects great things next season whatever division we're in.

Noticed someone above saying our recruitment team are great, really?, £1.5m million on Elvis says it all.

Sorry, well not really, but I couldn't lump Preston NE in with that lot... Massive club in terms of winning major competitions many years ago.

Lest we forget they were known as the invincible's for a while too.

Pretty disrespectful, given this list:

In 1996, Preston's Third Division title made the club the fourth and most recent to have been champions of all four professional leagues in English football. This feat had previously been achieved only by Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1988 and local rivals Burnley in 1992.

Do yer history homework.

True, but by comparison, we are neither illustrious nor deserving of the BIG club tag... Just saying... I wish some of us would attempt at being humble when shouting down some other clubs in this division.

As for Preston, they're a fantastic club with great fans and a proud and considerable history. They seem to be matching our first season under Poyet at this level.

Sorry but I do care, as I love football.

Yes you could. Otherwise you wouldn't have said that we were the only one of the top 9 never to be in the Premier League, as if football only started in 1992.
