I've had a bit of a volte-face in this series. The first few episodes I thought were utterly preposterous, but the last two episodes have really gripped me, and I like the link back to the first series, especially as I've always thought Hastings was dodgy.

Its a bit disturbing like a Dali painting but ultimately unsatisfying. Agree?

Don't think there has ever been a less likable bunch of lead characters and that is one of its strengths. Favorite character was Dot. The villains are equally dislikable. Great British drama at its best.

I usually record it and watch it one afternoon in the week when wife and I are on our own but the identity of the balaclava man will be all over the papers and tv tomorrow so must watch it this evening as it happens.

I have a feeling "balaclava man" is going to be somebody we haven't even seen much in this series, if at all.
