I reckon Birmingham will take 6th from Derby, too. It would be good to add them to the spreadsheet.

Birmingham's next 2 games are QPR away and Hull at home. Whilst I wouldn't go as far as to stay it's make or break, those 2 games will go a long way to showing if they can stay up with the pace.

I have us down as 4th place on GD, losing out on autos on the last day at Boro because Hull and Burnley both get last day wins....would be gutting as we'd have Derby in the playoffs again too :/

I've been having a play and have made up a speadsheet with all top6 remaining fixtures on it. My predictions show us coming 4th :
Played Points Games left Max points projected total
Hull 32 63 14 105 26 89
Burnley 33 62 13 101 25 87
Boro 31 61 15 106 29 90
BHA 33 60 13 99 23 83
Weds 33 54 13 93 22 76
Derby 32 54 14 96 19 73

If anyone wants to play with it, the spreadsheet is here :

http://www.vc12.info/fixtures.xls

So in your predictions you think that the top 6 will lose only once between them between now and the end of the season? That's crazy.

also you have Hull vs Sheff wed as a draw and a loss so it could potentially be two loses. Even so that wont be the case.

Surely Derby would be the best available option for the playoffs anyway?!

Realistically yes, but after last time it fills me with more worry and could for some of he players too? Maybe I'm reading into it too much.
Either way I was very 'draw heavy' with the predictions of our games, it really is anyone's guess!

In my forecast - Boro have a bit of a shocker against us, Hull and Burnley. They end up finishing 4th behind Burnley in 3rd and the Mighty Albion in 2nd place.

My feeling too.

FWIW, I reckon that Hull will be a bit derailed by the cup and stumble in the next couple of weeks but still recover to win it.

I had us as 4th

I have us finishing 5th.

Hard to predict Hull dropping many points. Battle for 2nd and 3rd will be tight. I also had Derby to finish 4th, but did (hopefully) over score the other teams.

projected total
Hull 103
Burnley 95
Boro 95
Derby 83
BHA 82
Weds 80

This, quite clearly, is nuts. By which I mean, you're suggesting that the top three will have 293 points collectively. I'm confident that they will have at least 20 points fewer than you're predicting, and maybe even 30. Feel free to bounce and call me nuts in early May.

Have to beat burnley, sheff wed and Derby all at home to have any chance.

Said couple weeks ago we will need 90 (or even 91) points for second due to our goal difference and still stand by this.

Hull will win the league with about 94 points, burnley and boro on 89/90 points.

You are right, this will not happen. But can you tell me the games where hull will drop points.

My feeling as well - need 30 points at least and that assumes we beat Burnley and Boro . 30 out of 39 is going to be very tough though, just under a 76% hit rate. Howver to be optimistic we have achieved 75.2% in last 7 games.

The maximum points total that Hull can get is 105 points, so that means Hull will win 13 and draw 1 of their remaining 14 games!!! Don't see that happening when they have got to play Wednesday at home, Boro, Derby and Birmingham away...
