Keepers are supposed to be distinguishable from any other player on the pitch be it their own team, the opposition and the opposite keeper.

Common sense should follow that the ref is distinguishable too.

Given that it's only relatively recently that keepers had to be different to each other (to counteract keepers going up at corners late on) then all the old rules about not wearing yellow unless internationals were dropped.

I though the ref's shade of green was different enough yesterday but it would have been easy for him to ask stockdale to wear our second keeper strip of red yesterday.
