Premier League clubs broke £1bn transfer spending for the first time in league history after spending £172.65m in this winter window.
Stoke paid the most for a player in January, signing Porto midfielder Giannelli Imbula for £18.3m on Deadline Day - smashing their previous transfer fee of £12m for Xherdan Shaqiri set in August last year.
Newcastle splashed the most cash, spending £12m apiece on Tottenham winger Andros Townsend and Swansea midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, in addition to £5m on Bordeaux*defensive midfielder Henri Saivet.
Chelsea earned the most from player sales, collecting £25m from the sale of Ramires to*Chinese club Jiangsu Suning.
Norwich signed the most players, adding seven players to their ranks during the window, including Everton forward Steven Naismith for £8m and Wolfsburg defender Timm Klose for £7.6m.
Barnsley and Barnet released the most players, each offloading six players in January, of which only Hakeem Odofin was sold for a fee - with Barnet earning £98,000 from the 17-year-old's transfer to Wolves.
Stevenage, who recently parted company with manager Teddy Sheringham, loaned in six players - more than any other club. Meanwhile, Chelsea and QPR loaned out the most players - with both clubs releasing eight players temporarily.
