Albion have covered themselves against more worries about the state of the Amex pitch.
They have invested in an inflatable cover to help groundsman Steve Winterburn and his team.
It will enable them to work on the pitch in all weather conditions before and immediately after matches.
Albion's last home game against Wolves on New Year's Day was the 18th club fixture on the pitch this season, including the under-21s and women.
That is three more than at the same stage last season.
The Amex was also the venue for two Rugby World Cup games on successive days in September and an England under-21 international in November.
But Winterburn says wet weather at unhelpful times is the main reason for the deterioration in the playing surface, rather than increased useage.
He said: "It has been a particularly tough period through December, mainly due to the heavy rainfall, which not only affects the ongoing condition of the surface, but also really hampers the grounds team's ability to get out and work on the pitch.
"It's the same at a lot of clubs up and down the country, with a lot of pitches taking a battering, and some have been affected much worse than ourselves.
"We've also had to contend with a few extra games, but realistically it is more down to the adverse weather, which is really making it difficult, and the fact that it’s often coincided with the matches being played.
"We had the two rugby matches in September - which were a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the stadium and the city - and the pitch was able to recover very well from those games."
The heavens did not help Albion at the start of December, when they staged a women's match against Charlton the day after the same club's Championship visit to coincide with around 2,000 fans attending the Young Seagulls party.
The Charlton double-header initiative was hit by torrential rain for the women's game.
The deterioration in the pitch was noticeable when Middlesbrough visited in front of the Sky cameras on December 19.
Boss Chris Hughton admitted afterwards it was "not at its best".
The issue was back on the agenda following the January 1 defeat by Wolves, played three days after another home game against Ipswich.
Bruno describe the pitch as "bad", Albion team-mate Beram Kayal said: "It doesn't help us play our normal game."
Winterburn and his co-workers have been working hard on renovation during the 22-day gap ahead of Huddersfield's visit on Saturday.
He told seagulls.co.uk: "The grounds team spent a lot of time over the Christmas period working hard on the pitch, and were able to get it into better shape for the Ipswich match, but the impact of two games in the space of four more wet days meant it was looking worse for wear by the end of the Wolves game.
"The good thing is we have some time now to work on improving the surface. The club has invested in the pitch and the grounds equipment at the stadium, not to mention the training ground, and we will be using that and working around the clock to get the pitch into the best possible condition for the Huddersfield match."
The Amex pitch back to something approaching its best could play an important part in the promotion push with ten home matches still to play and the prospect of fit-again Kazenga LuaLua and new signing Anthony Knockaert raiding down the wings.
