Once again fans were reminded of the massive commitment being made by chairman Tony Bloom towards the end of the year as the club revealed a deficit of a little more than £10 million for last season, despite the sales of Will Buckley and Leo Ulloa.
The Bloomin’ Christmas reference comes from the much-loved festive film Father Christmas (those of you who were with us at the start of all this before sunrise will probably be familiar with that cinematic work).
You could argue it’s more a case of it being Christmas Every Day given the amount Bloom is pumping in.
Like many reading this, he may well have spent part of today planning one or two purchases in January. Just to add to his bill.

A £10 million loss? A £10 million investment? Perhaps the best description of that bottom line is a £10 million calculated gamble in the quest for the riches of the Premier League.Depending on your Christmas Day, you may or may not be in need of a sobering thought right now. But here’s one anyway.
Albion have excellent attendances (though it should be pointed out their season tickets are competitively priced), they have a modern stadium designed to maximise various types of matchday revenue and they would appear to have an impressive portfolio of sponsors, headed by two of the most famous companies in the world.
Yet, over the period covered by the last three sets of club accounts, Bloom has covered deficits totalling £35 million to keep his side competitive in the second division.
That state of affairs for the game as a whole is madness, surely?
Or calculated madness in Bloom’s case.
