Less than 5 weeks till the big day, TV Xmas schedules started, Xmas songs on radio, we’re nearly there...

If it wasn't for all the religious stuff, you wouldn't have Christmas. And if Mr J Christ were alive today, he would be spinning in his grave at all the commercialism....... except he's not in his grave, but I won't go in to that now.

Whilst this is probably true it is also worth noting that Christmas was already a winter festival across Europe before the Christians got involved. One can quite easily celebrate Christmas, Yuletide etc without the need for organised religion.

It will go up a few days into December. Have managed to bring it forward over the years, which pleases most of us!

Always a real tree every Xmas of my life, never an artificial tree.

Agreed! I was merely aiming to point out that it is called Christmas after Christ. And it doesn't prevent non Christians from enjoying the holiday, or Pagans celebrating Midwinter at about the same time. Let the party commence!

Homebase reporting November Christmas tree sales are up nearly 600% in November from a decade ago, showing more people want to get into the Christmas spirit earlier. Many now choosing to put theirs up after the Haloeeen/Bonfire Night festivities are over.
