Chris Hughton*has praised the width of Albion’s promotion challenge.
The manager has pinpointed the significance of the goalscoring contribution from his trio of wingers.
Injured Kazenga LuaLua, Solly March and Jamie Murphy have supplied eight of the second-placed Seagulls’ 21 Championship goals.
LuaLua earned wins at home to Nottingham Forest and Blackburn and helped Albion to another victory at Ipswich before suffering groin damage in training in September.
March struck his second goal of the season, Murphy his third in his last four outings in Saturday’s 2-1 success against MK Dons at the Amex.
Hughton said: “I thought Solly and Jamie were unplayable at times.
“With Solly scoring, what we are having is a contribution from the wide players, which is great.
“Kazenga had four goals (all competitions) before he got injured, now Jamie and Solly. That is important, it’s just now our centre-forwards giving us what we need.”
Five-goal top scorer Tomer Hemed’s famine stretched to eight matches as he failed to capitalise on a series of first half chances against Dons.
Hughton said: “He’s a super lad, he really wants to do well, and it is also about a contribution to the team. That he is doing and as long as he keeps giving us that the goals will come.
“Whether he will be a big goalscorer or not I don’t know but the goals will come.”
