Highlights from Wolves' 0-0 draw against Brighton from the Molineux.
In-form Brighton striker Tomer Hemed wasted a golden chance to strengthen his side's position at the top of the Sky Bet Championship after he missed a first-half penalty in a 0-0 draw against 10-man Wolves at Molineux.
Hemed, who joined on a three-year contract in a £1million deal from Almeria this summer, had gone into the game in a rich vein of form having scored five times in seven league matches and being on target in the previous two.
But his finishing deserted him from the spot in the 23rd minute and to compound matters for Brighton they then could not break down a Wolves side which had to play the final 41 minutes of the game with 10 men after the dismissal of midfielder Conor Coady.
Wolves, who had gone into the game on the back of a 2-1 defeat in their last match at Bolton, mounted a determined rearguard action to pick up a hard-earned point.
After a very low-key opening 20 minutes, which was only punctuated by Wolves winger James Henry's speculative long-range drive over the bar, Brighton wasted a golden chance to take control from the spot.
A neat pass from Dale Stephens split the Wolves defence in two and released winger Jamie Murphy. His surge towards goal was ended by a rash challenge from Scott Golbourne and referee Jeremy Simpson had no hesitation in awarding a penalty.
But Hemed's low spot-kick was weak and was beaten out by Emiliano Martinez. The on-loan Arsenal keeper then frustrated the Israel international when he saved his follow-up shot as well.
However, Hemed, who was also frustrated in the 31st minute when he shot straight at Martinez, did go some way to making amends for his penalty miss when he ensured Brighton stayed on level terms.
Adam Le Fondre's close-range shot after 33 minutes from a Kortney Hause knockdown was goalbound only to be cleared off the line by the perfectly-placed Hemed.
To complete a rather up and down half for Hemed he didn't reappear after the interval and was replaced by Elvis Manu who made his debut following his recent £1.5million move from Feyenoord.
Wolves were then forced into a reshuffle of their own four minutes into the second half when Coady was handed a straight red by Simpson for his challenge on Liam Rosenior.
Wolves boss Kenny Jackett then took off Le Fondre and replaced him with Kevin McDonald to try and shore up his midfield.
Brighton struggled to make their extra manpower pay off with Hause and Ethan Ebanks- Landell holding a solid line at the centre of the Wolves defence.
They generally restricted Brighton to long-range efforts with Beram Kayal and Kazenga Lua Lua really struggling to test Martinez with their hopeful shots.
Rosenior then flashed a 72nd minute shot into the side-netting and when Brighton did manufacture a clear-cut chance, Martinez was more than equal to the task. He dealt comfortably with a low drive from Manu in the 78th minute when the Dutchman really should have done better from 16 yards.
