Albion boss Chris Hughton praised his side’s fast start on an emotional day at the Amex.
And he described the 1-0 win over Hull as a fitting result.
Tomer Hemed scored in the fifth minute after emotional pre-game scenes in which fans remembered those who died in the Shoreham Airshow tragedy.
Hughton said: “Sometimes in this type of game, when you have a tribute like we did today, it’s a slow start.
“But I thought our team put in a fitting performance, especially for the two lads.
“We have been starting quite well.

“It is very difficult to keep that going for 90 minutes – almost impossible against a team with the quality Hull have got.“To get this type of victory was pleasing because it’s a different type of game.
“We had a really good period in the first half and probably needed to get that second goal.
“We had to defend well for a chunk of the second half but that’s what the game is about and we did that.”
Hughton thanked all involved with Hull City for their part in the event.
He added: “I thought the tribute the club put on today was a really fitting one.
“You have seen a club and a community pulling together.”
