That's different, I just think they were shit

Not even Kim could save them.

I have an embarrassing fondness for over produced Scottish pop soul music. Not only this:

but also this:

and even this:

I can try to pretend that there is some link to Aztec Camera and Orange Juice, but in reality, my only hope is that I haven't reached rock bottom yet. I don't own anything by Texas.

This is a guilty pleasure for me, I even do bits of the dance routine if I hear it and I am on my feet, in B&Q once to the embarrassment of my missus.

This sort of thing makes me feel schizo, it just does not fit with anything else I like or with my (concious) personality at all. In fact I might start a thread about that.

Totally agree with the quote posted earlier, what's wrong with having a broad taste?

But...if I was pushed on it I'd have to say the following meet the criteria:

Quite possibly the only good thing the Communards ever did (from memory most of their first album and some of their second was near unlistenable) but by God is it a cracking cover.

Is it youthful nostalgia? Is it a weakness for manufactured pop? Who cares, it's f*cking brilliant.

Heavy rotation on local radio has sullied this one's reputation, whilst I genuinely consider it to be one of the finest songs ever written. The central riff, the understated but beautifully melodic instrumentation, the striking imagery of the lyrics...I could go on. Will be unashamedly blasted at full volume when I'm lowered into the grave.

Hard to define, this. I'm very fond of slightly cheesy early 70s pop-rock like Pilot, but possibly my greatest guilty pleasure might be this:

She is very talented and this is one of many great songs.

Good one [emoji106]

Didn't think of her until you said it, but I too have a small collection of Ms Swift's music on my iPod, as does at least one regular NSCer that I can think of :)

I might have suggested 22, or I Knew You Were Trouble, in addition to Shake It Off [emoji38]

Ta muchly both, I also have a soft spot for 'Love Story' which might actually count as a guiltier (?) pleasure...barring my complete lack of shame or guilt of course!

I noticed, while quoting the original post, that the Shake It Off video has had more than a billion views on YouTube. A billion

I was in Spain a few weeks back and everywhere I went they played that effing Cheerleader song. I hate it but can't get it out of my head  It's a modern day Agadoo.
