Interesting to see how many people are making up their own laws of the game!

The ball is in play when kicked and it moves - law 17.

Nothing about leaving the quadrant, or moving a circumference.

Could argue the multiple kicks but that's about it.

No goal as the first player touched/moved the ball twice. In addition there could be the argument that the ref blew the whistle after the first player touched the ball.

As for BG and his circumference rule, that bit the dust years ago. Keep up at the back!!!

Exactly. Been done many times before. But best tell the linesman first. A few years ago one was disallowed due to the linesman being just as dopey as the opposition.

I too believed that a ball had to travel its own circumference before it was deemed to be in play, but if not then the goal should be disallowed as the first player touches it more than once.

Man U tried something similar few years back and was disallowed:

To me it's no goal, simply because if the defending side went and kicked it or tried to tackle, chances are the attackers would be like 'what are you doing, we haven't taken the corner' and the ref might even book the defending player in question.

First player did not make an attempt to play ball, unlike Rooney
