He was a combination of the goal Michael Owen scored at France '98, and the goal Ryan Giggs scored in the FA Cup Semi-Final in '99.
Lightening quick in the top third and clinical in the box.
He was brilliant. Those 3 seasons from 76-79 were the best ever for Albion fans.

Does any evidence exist of him ever buying a round (or even a pint) in the Brighton & Hove area?

How many pints did you buy him?
That day he had about 15 pints I think plus a couple of bottles of Wine, he was mobbed coming down from Brighton Station outside the Royal Standard

He was our very own George Best and has to be the most exciting player to have worn the stripes. We are certainly missing that bit of magic to get the crowd going.
Really scary!
What fantastic memories were brought back by watching the video clip of Wardy goals. Made me tingle with excitement, even after all these years!
