Mustapha Carayol: The 26-year-old could be eligible to play against Chris Hughton’s side at the weekend. Brighton & Hove Albion: A win for Chris Hughton’s men on the final day of the season, could see the club climb one place up to 19th in the table.
Repetition: The Seagulls are unbeaten in the past two meetings at the Riverside, sealing two victories in the process.
One-hundred and six-years-ago: The two sides could not be separated in the very first meeting during a 1-1 stalemate in the FA Cup second round at the Goldstone Ground back in 1906. Boro’ went on to progress to the third round with a 3-1 win on home soil.
Upson: The former Albion centre-half scored the only goal of the game, four minutes from time, in the previous encounter at the Riverside to give the Seagulls a crucial victory.
Gordon Greer: The Seagulls skipper bagged an 88th minute consolation goal in the reverse fixture this term but ultimately Boro left the Amex with the three points.
Home advantage: Middlesbrough have lost just three times at home in the league, conceding just 12 times. Their last defeat at the Riverside came against Leeds United in February.
