We want to give fans every opportunity to come back and see the team next season. "
Paul Barber

Brighton & Hove Albion chief executive Paul Barber paid tribute to the fans after the club achieved an excellent season ticket renewal rate and is full of optimism ahead of next season.
*

Close to 90 per cent of the Albion’s season-ticket holders have renewed ahead of next season and the CEO has been impressed by the fans’ dedication to the club.
*
He told seagulls.co.uk, “We’re renewing at around 90 per cent, which including 1901 Club members, is a fantastic renewal rate, particularly in a season which has been disappointing by our own standards.
*
“The fans have shown their loyalty and commitment and everyone here is hoping to get through this season, make sure our place in the Championship is secure and then go again next season.
*
“We’ve done as much as possible to keep the price of football at the Amex as affordable as possible. We’ve extended the travel zone and have still got the interest free and fee-free direct debit scheme, which is getting more popular each season.“We’ve introduced the new under-21 age bracket which makes a season ticket just that little bit more affordable for people going off to college, university or starting work for the first time.”
*
“We want to give fans every opportunity to come back and see the team next season. I’m delighted in the ways they’ve responded.”

Barber revealed that Albion intend to strengthen the squad for next season and echoed the sentiments of chairman Tony Bloom by reiterating his desire to challenge for promotion once again.
*
“We want to get results on the pitch and ensure that fans have a great time when they come to the stadium, but ultimately we’re judged by our results on the pitch.
*
“There’s going to be some investment in the team and the chairman has made it clear that he expects and wants us to be challenging again next season and we’ll be working very hard to assemble a squad that we and Chris [Hughton] feels can compete next season.”
*
“We are going into a summer period where the manager is very comfortable, he’s got to know the club, the players and understands the division.
*
“We’ve got a chairman that’s willing to back the manager and the recruitment team and we’re very determined to put together a squad that can compete again next season, but people must remember that this is probably the most competitive league in Europe.
*
“It’s not going to easy, but we feel we’re going to be in a better place to compete next year.”
