Carlisle have signed defender David Atkinson from Middlesbrough and Brighton's Jeffrey Monakana on loan until the end of the season.
Atkinson, 21, who can also play in midfield, has progressed through Boro's Academy and was part of the first-team squad towards the end of the 2013/14 campaign.
He spent a month on loan at Hartlepool in September 2014 but did not make an appearance.
Winger Monakana is yet to make a first-team appearance for Brighton and has spent time on loan at Aberdeen and Mansfield this season.
