Brighton & Hove Albion striker Sam Baldock is likely to miss the rest of the season after sustaining a knee injury against Derby County on Tuesday night.The 25-year-old forward limped out of the 2-0 win against the promotion-chasing Rams shortly before half-time after damaging ligaments in his knee.
Albion manager Chris Hughton said, “It’s incredibly disappointing for Sam and ourselves.
“Sam has been a regular in the team in the period of time that I’ve been here, and although he’s not playing in his natural position, he’s done a great job there and been able to chip in with goals.
“Our thoughts now are making sure that he gets the right treatment and rehab, and comes back in great shape for pre-season.”

Baldock has started in all but two matches since Hughton took charge at the turn of the year, scoring three times in that period.He has made 22 appearances in total this season, netting four times in all.
