Having said that, Ben Thatcher got a long ban for his assault. Apart from the power behind the elbow being more severe in Thatcher's case, I don't see why there should be a disparity between each ban.

That would require consistency from the FA. Seriously, is it too much to ask for?

Why visit an away game? Is that much better than at home?

No complaints if Jedi receives a ban. Unacceptable even if he mistook it for an Aussie Rules game.

he would have got a ban for deliberately targeting an opponents head in AFL so in a football context he should be absolutely frked...!!

Horrible player. Nothing wrong with the traditional 'hard but sort of fair' approach (unless you're Billy Sharp/Doncaster fans) but he's crossed way over that line several times this season alone. Nasty.

Should be a 4 game ban.

He's a very good player on form, but he does some stupid things that have cost us in 3 games (2 rash penalties and kicking out at a Sunderland player) this season, and could have cost us on Saturday.

However, would've been nice for the WBA player who knocked Speroni out of a game with an elbow to receive a ban, but because Battenburg saw the incident, they added nothing to it.

Don't get me wrong, he deserves the 4 game ban, but the consistency in decision-making is madness (see Barnes foul).

Sorry didn't realise we were talking about Barnes, my word, if any of a team is whiney its you lot. You are so pathetic, you actually CHOOSE to visit another teams forum......

Isn't that a virtual version of going to watch an away match? I don't see anything pathetic about monitoring and if necessary coming on here to correct any misapprehensions, mistakes and basic falsehoods some blinkered Albion fans spread about. After all there may be other clubs' fans on here too.

I thought you would be far more upset about the wonderful display Muzza (FFS to you) put up in the game, and the rather poor decision about his sending-off.

That second goal (how he was "credited" with the first God alone knows, if the defender had got out of the way instead of toe-poking it aimlessly the goalie had the header easily covered) was pure poetry..

Just think, he could have still been gracing the AMEX every home game...

Agreed, the FA seem to be making some very odd decisions this season.
Ivanovic got away with throttling an Everton player because the referee saw it. Which because they don't want to be seen as re-refereeing games glosses over the fact that the referee was wrong.

Good post. Maybe CPFC could take the lead and trickle some of their Premier League money down to grass roots football.

Well in the recent past we have trickled down some of our players.. Calvin Andrew for one.

And thanks for helping to turn Muzza into a genuine Premiership talent. Fortunately he was smart enough to recognise which team had the best opportunity to get there.

The WBA one was very poor, and he deserved a 3 match ban, minimum.

To compare the Barnes incident with Jedinak's is an absolute nonsense, though. One was a poorly judged, and reckless attempt to win the ball. The other, the player had already cleared the ball, and made a second deliberate movement, to hurt an opponent. Jedinak's was assault - its nothing but pure luck, that the player was not seriously hurt.

Forgetting the fact his agent was actively touting him to Millwall and Palace at the same time ? Nothing to do with picking the right club , it was all about the MONEY.

But you see, it actually wasn't at the time.

You can continue to spout inaccuracies without any knowledge of what his actual wage in his early years at Selhurst was, but no-one really listens to you, Soggy. Palace fans come to this site to read the opinions of those who actually attend games.

To get back to the main point of the thread, and irrespective of who he plays for, the elbow was a calculated vicious and intentional act of dangerous thuggery and deserves more than a three match ban.

To be fair SDG, no footballer genuinely aspires to play for Palace in the same way that no footballer aspires to play for us. The only exceptions are someone like Luke Chadwick, making a 'romantic' transfer to Cambridge Utd at the arse end of his career, and anyone believing anything else is deluding themselves about what their club represents (exceptions - Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool etc.)

He's done that his whole career, hence his nickname "Elbows". Glad this has finally been picked up on. Talentless thug.
