Albion are expected to complete the loan signing of Middlesbrough playmaker Emmanuel Ledesma today.
The 26-year-old from Argentina will join the Seagulls subject to a medical.
Seagulls chief executive Paul Barber last night told a fans’ forum that the club were on the brink of completing a loan deal for a wide player.
The club’s official Twitter account quoted Barber as telling supporters attending from the North West Sussex Seagulls fans’ group: “We are still looking to add a wide player, using the emergency loan system, and we hope to do so in the next 24 hours or so.”

But Hughton made no secret of his desire to add an extra wide man in January with Albion short of natural width and The Argus understands Ledesma will fit the bill.
Ledesma has recently returned to Aitor Karanka’s Boro after a successful loan spell with Rotherham United.
He has only played twice for Championship title-chasers Boro since last September.
