Chris Hughton has played down fears about Albion coming unstuck again away from home on a dodgy pitch.
The Seagulls suffered their only defeat in six away games at rock-bottom Blackpool last month on a surafce resembling the nearby beach.
The pitch at Hillsborough, home of tomorrow's hosts Sheffield Wednesday is almost as bad.
Former Albion boss Russell Slade was being kind when he described it as "very testing" in his programme notes for the Seagulls' visit to Cardiff on Tuesday.
Cardiff drew 1-1 at Sheffield Wednesday last Saturday and Hughton has vowed Albion will not abandon their possession-based philosophy in search of a point, or three, to ease their relegation worries.
He told The Argus: "You have to be able to adapt. There are going to be some surfaces in this division that are cleaner than others.
"It's just part of the game and you have to adapt the best way you can.
"Watching some games, there are teams that have gone there and have used the surface well, got the ball down and played efficiently. We have to make sure we do the same.
"Sometimes you have to adjust your game a little bit but generally our philosophy will still be the same.
"Every club is different. At the Amex we have the benefit of weather and the way the stadium is built allows good access to sunlight and heat on the pitch.
"If you look at Premier League stadiums, some pitches will be at a better level than others. You want each club to do the best they can but some clubs have better elements in their favour than others. It's part and parcel of the game and you have to accept it."
The state of the Hillsborough pitch is sure to crop up as a post-match talking point but the old adage about being the same for both sides applies in this instance.
Familiarity has not helped produce results for shot-shy Sheffield Wednesday.
They sit 20th in the home-only Championship table, just above Albion, after only two wins in the last ten and three all season.
A paltry tally of eight goals from 15 outings is the worst in the division but Stuart Gray's side have also conceded just 13 goals in front of their own supporters, the joint-third lowest total.
