A couple more to add to the mix

Top Secret (a brilliant and very much underrated comedy imo)
Spaceballs
United 93 (follows 9/11 response by the authorities and those aboard the doomed flight 93)

Sophie Scholl - a brilliant film about a young German heroine and her brother who made a stand against the Nazis with predictably tragic consequences. Based on actual events in Munich in 1943.

Flame and Citron - a brilliant action packed piece of film making about the Danish WWII resistance movement, currently on Netflix. Based on true events and starring the legendary Mads Mikkelsen.
