New Albion manager Chris Hughton has not given up hope of luring Darren Bent back to The Amex.
The former England striker's loan spell from Aston Villa ended with Monday's 2-0 win at Fulham, which he missed with a short-term groin injury.
Bent is reportedly bound for Derby County for the rest of the season.
Hughton, speaking at his first press conference this morning as Albion boss, told The Argus: "He's a quality player. He has gone back. There certainly would be interest in him, particularly with his contract position at Aston Villa (up in the summer).
"Of course, from our position here, he's one that we'll very much think about but what we need to do is make the right decisions and I'd like to think we get to the stage where we have some options and it's about making the right choices on those options."
Elliott Bennett, who has just returned to Norwich following his second spell with the Seagulls, thrived in the Premier League during Hughton's time in charge of the Canaries.
The winger has been linked with a return to Wolves, where he started his career.
Hughton said: "He is a player I know well. Unfortunately for Elliott he missed most of last season after having a really good pre-season and starting that first game of the season.
"But Elliott's really just one of a few we have to discuss over the next few weeks. What's more important is that we try and make as many good decisions as we can, because come the end of January sometimes those opportunities to get what you would like have gone."
