We’re looking at it as an opportunity for us to jump up the table now. "
David Stockdale

Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper David Stockdale says that last night’s superb victory over Fulham will give the side momentum to rise up the SkyBet Championship table. The shot-stopper believes that the squad can take real confidence from the result and feels that they are finally getting their just rewards from another good display.
He said, “It was a terrific performance. We’ve got the belief back, not that there wasn’t any belief there in the first place, but I feel that we did not play well enough under Sami and owed an explanation as such.
“Nathan said exactly the same, and that we’ve got to put right what’s gone wrong before.
“We’ve got the solids right on the night, which was a clean sheet and you can always build on that.
“The worst-case scenario is that you come away with a point and I felt that over the last three games we should have got more out of them.
“We got off to a terrible start against Reading but showed the character and the belief to get back into it and if we had scored a bit earlier than we could have won it.”

The 29-year-old then went on to praise the vociferous Albion fans that made the journey to the capital on a freezing night and has challenged them to replicate that atmosphere at the Amex.“I’ve got to praise the fans, it was a cold night and we had something like 3,000 supporters in the ground which is unbelievable from an Albion point of view.
“They were singing we are staying up throughout the game, but we’re not looking at it that way. We’re looking at it as an opportunity for us to jump up the table now.
“This was a great place to come and show what we’re all about away from home, and if we can take that atmosphere into home games and the fans really get behind us, then psychologically we won’t be looking down.”
