Go! The scourge of modern football - The director of football, or footballing operations manager or whatever highfalutin name the corporate kids dream up for a whizzy sounding job title.

Purely on his recruitment record over the summer, he should be on his bike. The Manager and manager alone should be the one who chooses his players. No way should any manager have players bought to the club on his behalf and have no say so. Don't believe all that bull about "we never recruit a player unless we have the managers approval". That aint how it works.

The whole club needs a clean sweep behind the scenes ideally.

Probably OUT, but see how a new manager does with the summer signings first.

Sami went because he knew he would never turn the fans around. This guy has even less support. A Total vote of No Confidence. Millions wasted and none want him having his hands on the tiller come the January window. Just go now you plonker.

F**k Off please! :bigwave:[/QUOTE)

Possibly a tad harsh but the sentiment remains, its been a mitigated disaster.

We now need a manager, who has a decent book of contacts, knows the Championship, but will be allowed to do everything a manager should do, deal exclusively with player recruitment.

Burke is the odd man out, he doesn't fit into that system, so he has to go, sad to sack a man at Xmas but needs must.

If Burke stays (or the club persist with this broken recruitment system) and we are collectively underwhelmed with the next managerial appointment, then Bloom's judgement in all things football will be called into serious question.

As others have said on other threads, this will determine if people renew their STs or not.

Why should someone take accountability for results, when they can't select their players?

Burke is a huge problem and until he is sacked it won't matter who's the manager. Boxing Day get behind the team and after the game get the Burke out banners

Interesting that in Sami Hyypia's departure he thanks the fans, Bloom, Barber, the players, the staff but no mention of Burke. That's where the problem is. Burke out.
